Devlog #2 - Apprentice and Thorn
Howdy y'all.
We're back with another devlog about the development of K.I.D. Last week we talked about the Impact tower, this week we want to talk about the Thorn tower.
The Thorn tower to us has been very creatively restrictive in how it's been flavored so far, even though we like the tower itself. That's why the Thorn tower as it appears has been moved to a Tier 2 tower with an appropriate buff, and with two Tier 3 evolutions coming off of it that we think maintain it's nature identity.
In it's place is the brand new Apprentice tower. Mechanically similar to the v0.1 Thorn tower, it throws out a few projectiles that have small damage and a small amount of pierce. Though now we're leaning into a magic theming. It's evolutions have been rethought up to focus on different magical areas, including the aforementioned Thorn tower, using Nature magic, and the Mage tower.
We hope to see the Apprentice tower get more love as we flesh out it's identity in the game and give it fun evolutions.
